Method

This site shows figures. Here you can read where they come from, how we measure them and what they don't tell you.

    What we measure

We measure two things: how participants feel and work before and after the training, and what they notice themselves at the end.

    • Productivity, with the World Health Organization's Health and Work Performance Questionnaire (HPQ).
    • Stress, with the Perceived Stress Scale.
    • Vitality and resilience.
    • What participants notice: a short survey at the end, asking in which areas they see improvement.

    How we measure

Participants fill in a questionnaire themselves: once before the training and once 4 weeks after it ends. They fill in the end-of-training evaluation once. So every figure is self-reported: it is how participants experience it. We report the results for the group. Individual answers never go to the employer.

    Number of participants and groups

Every figure on this site says how many people answered. These are the measurements the figures rest on today:

    • Before-and-after measurement of productivity and stress, TheyDo: n=14, 4 weeks after training (spring 2026)
    • End-of-training evaluation, TheyDo: n=22, after 6 weeks (spring 2026)
    • Sign-ups after the masterclass, TheyDo: n=39, after the masterclass (spring 2026)
    • Session attendance, TheyDo: n=39, spring 2026

    Limitations

    • There is no control group. We compare participants with themselves, before and after. So we can't say whether a change was caused by the training. That's why we write 'after the training', never 'because of the training'.
    • Results differ per organisation. What happened at one organisation is no guarantee for another.

    External research

Some figures come from research on attention training by others. Those figures were not measured in our participants. These are the studies:
